Understanding the diverse needs of the homeowners, Marc embarked on a mission to design a space that catered to relaxation, dining, entertainment, and children's play. The challenge was to seamlessly integrate these elements into a cohesive and visually stunning landscape.

Design Approach: Creating Distinctive Zones for Maximum Enjoyment

The selection of materials plays a pivotal role in any landscaping project. In this case, artificial grass and composite decking were essential components. However, the choice of paving was carefully considered. Murray Landscapes opted for natural stone paving, drawn to its timeless aesthetic appeal that blends modernity with classic charm.

In crafting the lower patio, Murray Landscapes envisions it as a seamless extension of the living space, accessible through French doors. This dedicated area is designed to cater to various activities, from entertaining guests and unwinding in the hot tub to enjoying refreshing moments in the designated chill-out space.

In the intricate process of transforming the garden, Murray Landscapes utilised a 1.6-ton mini digger, operated by a skilled team, to excavate and shape the terrain into three distinct levels, necessitating the removal of a substantial 105 tons of spoil. The foundation work involved pouring 3.5 cubic metres of C35 concrete for the retaining walls and introducing 30 tons of type 1 MOT as the initial sub-base layer, meticulously laid on a weed-suppressing membrane.

The subsequent phases included strategic drainage installation, meticulous construction of retaining walls and planters using over 600 concrete breeze blocks, and the integration of bespoke coping stones for a polished finish.

This meticulous approach extended to the installation of Promenade Indian sandstone, a brick slot drainage channel, and a charcoal block defining paved areas. As the finishing touches unfolded garden lighting, and the installation of key features like artificial grass, composite decking, a Hot Tub, and pergola took place. The project was then brought to completion with a thorough clean-up, ensuring every detail met Murray Landscapes' high standards before the final client walkthrough.
